Jasmine is currently completing her MA at York University in Art History. She completed her B.F.A. in studio art, beginning her degree at the Univeristy of Ottawa, and finishing it at Concordia University in Montreal.

Julia Lorimer

Julia Lorimer, BFA

Julia came to Toronto from Vancouver to study, and graduated with a BFA from the School of Image Arts at Ryerson University. While at Ryerson, Julia studied photography and coordinated the annual photo, film and new media festival, Maximum Exposure. After completing her studies, she spent a year in Montreal interning at the artist run centre, Eastern Bloc, to help organize their annual arts festival, Sight and Sound.

Julia brings to Petroff Gallery her expertise in exhibition coordinating, artwork documentation, photography and digital editing. Using her editing skills, Julia helps clients envision their homes and offices with new works by digitally placing them into the space.

Ivan Tanzer, BFA, MMSt

Originally from Montréal, Ivan moved to Toronto in 2006 to complete his Master's degree in Museum Studies. A curator and published writer, he continues to work directly with artists, art fairs, and contemporary arts magazines. Prior to joining the Petroff Gallery he worked for several different cultural institutions including Theatre Museum Canada, Oeno Gallery, and Westmount Gallery. Ivan brings a wealth of technology and design skills and works to promote the Gallery across a number of media channels. Ivan is also responsible for coordinating much of the behind-the-scenes activity at the Gallery including sourcing all manner of supplies, international shipping and logistics, and managing the website.

Ellen Hlozan holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History from York University as well as a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto. Since graduating in 2013, her work has focused on exhibition coordination, curating, and visual merchandising at a number of museums, galleries, and private collections in Toronto. Ellen is an active advocate for Canadian art, design, and contemporary craft and volunteers with organizations such as Craft Ontario and the International Council of Museums. In the role of Exhibitions and Social Media Coordinator, her work focuses on supporting Petroff Gallery’s artists and clients, in addition to communicating the gallery’s brand through exhibitions, events, and social media.

Jelena Jancovic, BA

Jelena completed a Bachelor’s degree in Art History at York University. During her studies she was a member of the Visual Arts Student Association, organizing and curating yearly student art exhibits, and assisting at the campus gallery.

 

After completing her studies in 2012, Jelena began working at YellowKorner Photography Gallery as a sales manager with a focus on client satisfaction, special orders and curation. She also works for Superwonder Gallery as an assistant curator and gallery assistant.

 

Her gallery experience has taught her how to find the perfect piece for every individual, and to ensure their artwork completes their home. Having volunteered for a number of art exhibitions around the city has made her passionate about assisting clients with finding art that is most suited to them, and seeing the final result!

 

 











 

 

 

Kendra Ainsworth, BA, MMSt 

Gallery Assistant

Kendra comes to Petroff Gallery with a background in programming and arts administration for non-profit art galleries and museums. She has a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, and has worked in the arts and culture sector in the GTA and surrounding region for over 7 years, at institutions such as the Gardiner Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario. When not at Petroff Gallery, Kendra also serves as Assistant Curator at the Art Gallery of Mississauga.

Kendra is a ceramics enthusiast and looks forward to helping you find beautiful fine craft objects that fit with your decor style.
