State of Art in 2025

Rachel Taggart painting - Petroff Gallery

As we leave 2024 behind, we are hopeful for a year of peace, tolerance, stability and happiness. We see that after the volatility of world conflict, the pandemic, high interest rates and uncertainty the art market is stabilizing with an emphasis on authenticity, high tech processes and cultural awareness.

The addition of art to one's life provides an interesting and valuable process starting with the search and how much one can learn about one's taste and the artworld and then culminating in the enjoyment, meaning and satisfaction in living with the chosen work and creating an impactful collection.

For 2025, we are seeing the following trends in the world of art

1) Organic Connection - Calm Environments - Reference to Nature - Earth tones - Atmospheric Landscapes - Earthy Ceramics

2) Go Big...Oversized Abstracts - Dynamic brushstrokes and Colour - Expressive Composition

Long gone is the idea that if you hang a statement piece in a small space the space will shrink. In fact, it’s the opposite, large pieces expand a space and can become a focal point and bring balance to other elements in the space.
