Glass artist Carol Nesbitt creates original and functional designs, along with one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces. Her pieces continue to be inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds us every day. Carol loves the fluidity of glass and the endless possibilities this material possesses. Her appreciation of glass comes out intuitively during the "hot process" when she creates a variety of organic forms, patterns and colours. Surface texture and interior optics are given special attention with each piece she produces.
Carol studied glassblowing at Sheridan College's School of Craft and Design, followed by a one-year independent study program. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and galleries across Canada and the U.S.A., and in private collections in London, Ireland, U.S.A. and Canada. Carol is the recipient of such awards as the 1994 Oakville Arts Council Mayor's Awards, and an Ontario Art Council grant awarded through juried selection in 1996.
