Chris Masoure is inspired by the works of the New York Expressionists from the 1950’s and J.M.W. Turner, the British landscape painter. The combination of various colours, application and process is intended to suggest a harmonic composition.
Chris applies many thin layers of paint with palette knives and brushes to create a soothing atmospheric finish that invites the viewer to navigate and discover. Layering also gives a perception of depth. Just like in nature, balance is always occurring between all elements. With that in mind, Chris strive's to express the sensation of that balance.
