Christopher Solcz is a Canadian visual artist born in 1993 in Windsor Ontario, Canada, border city to Detroit Michigan. Chris’s painting practice is heavily influenced by the idea of the flow state of mind, where he aims to intuitively express realms of consciousness and the subconscious visually. Chris’s work is a combination of colour field and abstract figurative painting. His creative process consists of starting multiple paintings at once and deconstructing each canvas via tearing or cutting, he will then re-arrange and layer these painted canvas pieces using collaging techniques to create new compositions which are highly abstract but retain some familiar every day shapes or forms.
