The themes of Morgan’s artwork are inspired by urban and rural landscapes, capturing the common, every day visual moments of life through his photographs. Applying the additional layering of mixed media and resin on large format photographs affixed to artist board, his images take on entirely new meaning and depth.
A self-taught artist, Jones is constantly evolving, guided by his tendency toward patience, observation, perseverance and, quite simply – effort. His philosophy embraces ‘trial and error’ which he believes are wonderful teachers. Continually looking to incorporate new ideas and mediums, Jones follows a multi-step process when creating his art. His techniques include sanding and staining, antiquing, the addition of collage and hidden messages, embossing and finally splashes of acrylic paint.
