South African born artist Suzanne Metz emigrated to Toronto in 1986. She works in a wide range of mediums, from charcoals, pencils and mixed media on paper to acrylics and mixed media on canvas. While her earlier work reflects the earthy, warm colours of her past in South Africa, recently Suzanne has added pure colours and vibrant graffiti elements to her pieces. This new dimension has allowed her to express herself using the written word unique to graffiti art, in combination with her own personal aesthetic. Of late, she has also approached the idea of colour field painting in combination with her unique approach.
